The smoke came swirling at my face. I coughed and squinted, the tobacco haze made it difficult to see her face. She inhaled the cigar again and let out another puff of dense smoke. "NO!" Tal'Shen screamed, so did Paul, both sharing the same pain as each strike fell on the merging body. The glossy scales flashed furiously, and Paul convulsed violently, all self control lost. Maya stood over him, avoiding the pursuing tentacles as she took hold of one and sliced it off with her blade. It was beautiful, almost obscene, the way the wriggling tentacle fell and shriveled on the floor, a trail of iridescent blood shimmering in its wake... "It's alright, it'll be over soon" Maya crooned as Paul moaned, setting her eyes on another flailing tentacle. "Lies! She Lies!" Another hack. "Paul! Killing Me Means Killing You!"

I've been on vacation for a month and I haven't updated here. Shame on me. Well, there hasn't been much to talk about,  anyway. A lot of my time goes to gaming (oh good heavens, how I missed  it) and reading a few books (I need a break from reading,  for 10 months I  did nothing but read and write essays). Highlight of last semester: I  won an award. There was a a short story competition organized by my faculty and I though "Fuck it, it's not like I'm gonna lose everything by trying"...and turns out I won 3rd place and  possible publication on my uni's magazine.
